Grok AI: A Guide to Its Unique Search Modes and Citation Features
Grok is an AI platform created by the owners of X, formerly known as Twitter. Users can access Grok by searching for it online. They can log in using their existing Twitter accounts or opt for their Google or Apple accounts. The platform is free to use, but it also offers a premium version that includes additional features.
Upon logging in, users encounter a user interface that features a section in the bottom right corner detailing the available paid programs. Grok provides a basic plan at no cost, alongside a paid plan that can be billed on a monthly or annual basis. While Grok operates similarly to other AI platforms, it is distinguished by its unique set of AI tools.
Users have the ability to customize their experience through a dropdown menu that allows them to enable or disable web browsing capabilities. They can also select from various search modes, including Advanced Search, Reasoning, Deep Search, and Deeper Search. The platform includes a feature that enables a thinking process, which allows Grok to take additional time to process requests for more thorough results.
When a user submits a query with the Deeper Search option activated, Grok displays its processing in real time. This search process is not immediate; it involves multiple operations occurring simultaneously, referred to as an Agentix search. The video pauses at this point, indicating that the next segment will cover Grok completing the search process.
After Grok finishes processing a request, users can copy the results to their preferred word processing software. They also have the option to share a link to the results with others. A significant feature of Grok is its ability to provide key citations at the end of the search results. This feature synthesizes information from various websites, highlighting the most relevant sources in relation to the user's query, rather than merely listing all sources utilized. The text concludes with a note of thanks and an invitation to view another video.
